The Hosts

Belgian expatriates for over 30 years, speaking French, English and Swahili. We are known for fine French cuisine and know the tastes and desires of our customers, constantly seeking new flavors adds character to the quality of our dishes.

The family atmosphere of Tanganyika is appreciated by our guests staying at the hotel. For a period of short or long term, we apply a personalized service where everyone finds space and feels like home.

Our History

Flooded from 63 to 67, abandoned until late 60s, the restaurant Tanganyika remained unusable during this period. Purchased by the family in 72 and restored, the hotel was the most popular place in the city of Bujumbura. Since 1982, we are the owners of this establishment, it has become one of the most beautiful restaurant in the capital.
